The Will Rogers High School Community Foundation is a not-for-profit Oklahoma corporation founded in 2010.
The directors and advisors provide experience from their own personal achievements and community leadership. While the foundation is not an alumni association, alumni make up our largest constituency.
In 2011, Tulsa Public Schools addressed changing needs for schools by consolidating several schools and closing others. Will Rogers High School, an Art Deco masterpiece built during the Great Depression, which had been listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007, was designated as a lottery magnet school, and renamed Will Rogers College Junior High and High School. Students who meet certain entrance requirements are offered the opportunity to take college-level courses, including courses through Tulsa Community College on the Will Rogers campus. These courses count both toward high school graduation and for college credit.
The foundation actively seeks ways to support the school, faculty, and staff, such as mentoring students, funding classroom projects, funding activities, and providing scholarships, so that Will Rogers offers the highest quality high school education available. There is a waiting list to enroll in Will Rogers, and the Foundation will continue to help make it Tulsa’s school of choice.
