Committee responsibilities are detailed in the Bylaws, Article VIII, and/or in resolutions of the Board of Directors. Listed below are the committee chairs and descriptions.
55 FUND – JoAnne Lewis
Oversees an investment portfolio established with funds from an individual donor. Works with the Principal and with board approval to fund school needs.
AUDIT – Bob Bryant
Oversees annual reviews or audits as directed by the Board. Also reviews tax filings and other official financial documents.
DEVELOPMENT – Open
Responsible for the oversight of development/fund raising and donor relations. Also motivates Directors to raise funds. Also works with the School in setting funding priorities.
DIRECTORS – Jacci Harris
Responsible for training and oversight of directors. Also responsible for nominating advisor, board, and officer candidates. Also review of conflicts of interest and director, officer, and volunteer responsibilities.
ENDOWMENT – Bill Miller
Oversees funding the Foundation’s Endowment Fund and works with the Board on any decisions about investment, management, and disbursement of funds.
FINANCE – Bill Miller
Assists and advises the Treasurer, including the annual operating budget, financial reports, tax filings, and general accounting policies.
GIFT ACCEPTANCE – Louis Coleman
Evaluates proposed gifts, particularly potentially unmarketable property or gifts with significant restrictions.
GRANT – Ann Burcham
Responsible for awarding funding for carefully vetted and prioritized activities, projects, program, and supplies requested by staff members and approved by the principal to enhance educational opportunities in all five areas of discipline: Academics, Arts, Athletics, Activities and Administration.
HALL OF FAME – Ron Woods
Coordinates with the Principal to maintain the Will Rogers High School Hall of Fame. Works with the Principal to honor inductees through displays at the school for the inspiration of the student body. Leads new inductee selections and induction ceremonies.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION – Dale Davis
Informs various publics about the historic Will Rogers High School building interior and exterior. Helps protect and preserve its status on the National Historical Register. Includes oversight of landscaping.
PUBLIC RELATIONS – Laura Schaub
Provides guidance for public relations opportunities, communications, and image among alumni, students, and various other publics. Maintains contact with media. Produces media content and maintains the website and other social media.
REUNION SUPPORT – Terri Smittle
Provides resources and assistance to alumni groups for reunion planning.
SCHOLARSHIP – Ann Burcham
Manages funds donated in 2012 by the Class of 1961. Awards post high school scholarships. Works with the school’s senior counselor to help students pay costs associated with their concurrent enrollment at Tulsa Community College.
