James E. Frasier ’59

Jim Frasier’s character was shaped early in life through the influence of an older brother who came home from World War II with severe wounds received during heroic actions in the Pacific. While earning a B.A. at Tulsa University, Jim held three jobs, was active in student government, and became a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from TU School of Law, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Judge Advocate General Corps.

After military service, Jim joined his brother in forming the law firm of Frasier, Frasier & Hickman where he is senior partner. The firm dedicated itself to providing legal representation to the working people of Oklahoma. Jim received the Eagle Award from the Northeastern Oklahoma Labor Council and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Friend of the Working Man Citation from the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

Jim has enjoyed a notable legal career, winning numerous prestigious verdicts through the years. He has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Oklahoma, the United States, and the Cherokee and Muscogee Creek Nations. He served as president of the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association and on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice. He has been listed in America’s Best Trial Lawyers for many years.

In politics, Jim served as chairman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, was a delegate to many Democratic National Conventions, and served since 1997 as Oklahoma representative on the Democratic National Committee. He’s served on numerous boards of directors, including serving as chairman of the Grand River Dam Authority. Jim also is involved in banking and ranching.
